To further deepen the college’s cooperation and exchanges with ASEAN countries, and at the invitation of the SEAMEO Regional Centre for Vocational and Technical Education and Training (SEAMEO VOCTECH), a delegation of six led by Vice Dean LIU Xuefen visited Brunei for vocational education cooperation and exchange activities.
On June 25, the “Zheng He · Treasure Ship Workshop,” a collaborative Chinese project established by the college and SEAMEO VOCTECH, was officially inaugurated. The unveiling ceremony was attended by Mr. XU Chu from the Political Department of the Chinese Embassy in Brunei, Vice Dean LIU Xuefen of the college, and Mr. Norjemee Jenek, Director of SEAMEO VOCTECH. Both parties reached a consensus on the development of modern logistics management professional cluster course resources, the utilization and promotion of international standards, the building of an international teaching faculty, as well as “Chinese + Skills“ training, among other areas. They also signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation and exchanges. The ceremony received coverage from mainstream official media in Brunei, drawing significant local attention.
During the visit, Vice Dean LIU Xuefen and the delegation conducted in-depth research and exchanges with the “going global” enterprise, the Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Port Group. Both sides held detailed discussions on international talent cultivation, technical and skills training, and technical support services. The delegation also visited and expressed regards to alumni working in Brunei.
The delegation also visited higher education institutions in Brunei, including the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE), Laksamana College of Business (LCB), and the International Business College (IBC), among others. During the visits, discussions were held on topics such as international talent cultivation, course credit recognition, faculty and student exchanges, and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
This event serves as a new highlight in the college’s efforts to expand cooperation in vocational education with Brunei. It is also a meaningful attempt to promote the development of international friendly city relations between Nanjing and Bandar Seri Begawan. The college will take this opportunity to further strengthen vocational education cooperation between China and Brunei, expand people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and foster deeper mutual understanding and cultural appreciation between the two peoples, contributing the wisdom of Nanjing Vocational Institute of Transport Technology to the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative partners.
